Spongebob Squarepants is hilarious for everybody because he is so silly and his friends are not much better. His friend Patrick is reminiscent of Curly of the Three Stooges for his apparent empty-headedness and his tendency toward getting Spongebob into trouble. Equally close to Spongebob is Squidward. He is reminiscent of Moe Howard of the Three Stooges, though perhaps his tantrums and frustrations often emulate those of Donald Duck, although he is a lot easier to understand.
